ICOMIA worked in association with HYMAR towards an international conference held at the RAI in Amsterdam. The brief was to create branding for the conference and then to produce an A4 brochure, adverts, banners, flyers and powerpoint templates. It was an interesting coordination exercise as there were eleven companies involved but the conference was a great success and there will be another one this year.

Mullion Cove is a Bristol-based food producer. They already have branding but this needed to be adapted for new produce labels. The design has to be flexible to cater for new flavours as they are developed.

Koren Barnwell is an acupuncturist and natural healthcare therapist. Koren is very passionate about her work and the philosophies behind what she does. Koren wanted a logo that portrayed spiritualism and the strength of the human body, something that was positive and uplifting and that was clean and healthy without being too medicinal.

The story of 'Tregeagle and Pendennick' is based on the two real tugs from Fowey, Cornwall. The tugs have been recently decommissioned and Alison Wittamore wrote a story to commemorate their working history. Alison required drawings to illustrate the story.

Hymar is a european-funded research and development project for hybrid marine propulsion systems. The new logo had to represent marine technology and ecology. Quite a few people were involved with this one in the UK, USA and Europe so a few designs were trialed before one was finally decided on; other initial designs are shown above. Funding was limited so Hymar started initially with a logo and then incorporated banners and flyers. The project is going very well and there are plans for development of boat wraps, jacket designs and maybe even a spinnaker.

Jane Cooper now lives and works in Bristol after working in London for too long. She has a degree in Engineering from Nottingham university and experience in graphic design, advertising, fashion and interior design. She is also an accomplished painter and exhibits in Bath and Fowey, Cornwall.
When she is not doing all this Jane likes to cook, mountain bike, scuba dive and water the garden.
